Newly opened for the winter of 2007/08, Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada, is already carving itself a niche in the consciousness of skiers and snowboarders the world over!
With North America's longest lift-serviced descent at 15.2km (9.5mi), and a vertical of 1713m (5620ft), Revelstoke already boasts two 8-person gondolas, two high speed quad chairs, and a magic carpet! Not that you're limited to lift skiing - you can choose from world class cat- and heli-skiing, too! Add to that the 12-18m (40-60ft) of snowfall in the Selkirk Mountains every winter, and you have the receipe for an epic Canadian mountain holiday!
The village base, which is being developed and improved each year, offers an expanded day lodge with restaurant, deck, a retail shop and rental & repairs shop. There's also a certified snow school offering both ski and snowboard lessons (including a specially designed and dedicated beginner slope with magic carpet lift)!
As only one phase of the slopeside Nelsen Lodge will be ready to welcome guests in winter 08/09, most Revelstoke accommodation options are located in the town, 6km (3.5mi) from the lift base area. There is a shuttle service available, but the most convenient access would be self-drive. From winter 09/10, many more townhome and apartment units should be available for visitors to rent, right in the alpine village!

Legendary golfer, the perenially popular Nick Faldo, who has played in the Ryder Cup tournament more often than anyone else, who is the winner of six majors and more than forty tournaments internationally, will be designing the championship golf course at Revelstoke Mountain Resort!
The Revelstoke Mountain Resort golf course, which is yet to be named, will challenge golfers with tactical golf while distracting them with breathtaking views! Surrounded by towering forests, split by meandering creeks, the course will take advantage of the varied terrain and natural characteristics of the area. The golf course is scheduled to open for play in 2011.
In the meantime, the mature course at Revelstoke Golf Club welcomes locals and visitors alike to enjoy its relaxed charms and magnificent views!
